Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The best method to improve your equipment in Path of Exile is through upgrade of your items. This allows you to upgrade your gear without having depend on costly trades or drops. This article will show you how to upgrade your items.
Upgrades to equipment grant a bonus on the item's stats. The amount of bonus varies depending on the rarity and strength of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components can make your weapons and armour better. You can acquire them by fighting off enemies, locating them in spheres of items or purchasing them from karma sellers. They can also be rescued from equipment with them, or through an advanced salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed when you remove them from an item.
The main purpose of upgrade components is to allow an item to be upgraded however, they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the level of the amount of experience gained by upgrading weapons or gear. They can also be forged to provide extra bonuses. For example, a designed glyph will increase the chance of upgrading its target, and an upgrade boost will enhance the defense or attack property of a weapon, or armor.
You can connect an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. It will display a list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. item upgrading can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either scenario the item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components are collected.
Each component has a distinct experience multiplier, which affects the amount of experience an item receives when it upgrades with that component. Organic components, for instance have an increased multiplier of experience than mechanical components. It is therefore recommended to upgrade using organic components until you have reached the experience multiplier for the next rank of weapon or gear, then switch to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the experience multiplier Each item also comes with a maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgrades are determined by the upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade available to the upgradeable item. The most powerful upgrade is a weapon that is tier 10. However, the most popular upgrades for weapons are the tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a group of items that share bonuses. Each item can be upgraded at the least once. The upgrade boosts the bonuses that are guaranteed. When you first upgrade the set piece or weapon, it will receive a +1 increase to its primary stat. On subsequent upgrades, primary stats are enhanced even more (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its additional stats increases randomly.
Upgrading a weapon can also increase its damage base, which could be necessary for certain builds. Weapons can't be upgraded for an increased maximum defence roll than their base. It is a good method to increase the value of a set and unique items, but it's important to note that they're not necessarily superior to a high-level runeword in any build.
If you're upgrading an item that comes with an added bonus the item can be rerolled a single time, and its guarantee will reset back to zero. The same power dies are used to roll an item, just as it is used to upgrade it. However, the new item has different bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll need a power die of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the appropriate amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased with Gold. The NPC will also provide an additional reward for every tier that is completed of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled one time, using the same materials as original item.
Rerolling
A player can reroll any item acquired during the game, provided they have enough tokens. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced by the same level in another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for a small amount of in-game currency, however they are not refundable. The new item will have the same bonus features like the first, however the stats will also be different.
Players can change the identity of their equipment, in addition to rolling it again by interacting with a NPC upgrader. The equipment's identification will change as a weapon to armor or vice versa. The base requirements and stats will remain the same. The change will be permanent and affect all characters who have the gear.
Players can also increase the level of an item equipped equipment by acquiring upgrade items and conversing with the upgrader NPC of the item. The cost of upgrading will depend on the upgrade track, item type and number of crests. Each step will give 5percent more damage to weapons.
Upgrading an item will make it more powerful, but it will also lower its quality. Therefore, it is crucial to keep both in check. Certain items might not be worth upgrading, while others will need to be upgraded to maximize their potential. For instance, a player might decide to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to see what it can become.
The primary reason why people reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is because they're trying to get a specific character or weapon that they can't otherwise obtain. These items are time-consuming and costly to acquire, and the RNG isn't always a good fit. The only choices left are to invest real money or grind a lot. Rerolling is a popular feature in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor when upgrading an item. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I think it was meant to to increase the value of rare items, but because the majority of gear drops quickly and can only be upgraded one level up and you'll typically replace the item before it becomes too old. It's not worth upgrading items with gem sockets because the power of the gem will outweigh any increase in ilvl.

You will see a small box when you click the upgrade option for an item. It will display the template of the item, the Crest, as well as the cost for Valorstone to raise the level of the item. The cost of upgrades will vary based on the armor and weapons, with the former usually costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats that will be added to the upgraded item and also lists its current base ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and Crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. The ilvl will also be reduced by the upgrade templates lvl reduction percentage. For instance an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8percent.
The item will be upgraded to other stats, like critical strike damage, PvE damage, and block, parry and dodge rating, in addition to the base ilvl. These increases are built on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template you can check the amount of damage or defense that the item will suffer when it is upgraded. This is displayed below the cost and upgrade percentages. Aside from practice equipment, all items and armor get these same stats when leveled up. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly rolled piece of armor or weapon able to command much higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. The same is true for other pieces of armor, such as circlets and tiaras.
