Items and Upgrade Components in World of Warcraft
Upgrades can boost the value of armor and weapons. However upgrading common equipment isn't worth the investment since uncommon or exclusive equipment will outclass it quickly.
An item can be upgraded up to six times. Each upgrade will add points to the gauge of level of the item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve an item and boost its capabilities. Glyphs can be used to upgrade weapons or armor. They can also be used to enhance a hat or ring or necklace or other accessory. Glyphs can be found at a variety of levels and can be purchased from vendors located in the city of Deneb. They're costly, but they're worth it as they boost an item's stats.

Growthstones
When you upgrade the armor, weapon or accessory, you can use Growthstones to further increase its power. The process takes time and there is a possibility that the item will not be at its target level. For instance, a standard headpiece can be upgraded to level six, but not to level nine. The maximum upgrade level of an item depends on its quality. Rare and Epic items are able to be upgraded up to level 9, whereas Uncommon items are only able to reach level 6.
You can get Growthstones from a variety of NPCs in major cities, or from the player auction house. They can also be obtained as rewards from the Ancient Arena season. These items can be used to improve skills that are passive, and also to level up weapons and armor.
Once you have enough Growthstones you can visit any Equipment Enchanting NPC and increase the level of upgrade for your gear. Different types of armor, weapons and accessories require different Growthstones. You can also find Active Skill Growth Books and Passive Skill Growth Books at these NPCs, and the special Precious Skill Growth Book: Omnipotence can be used to upgrade your weapon's ultimate abilities.
You can upgrade your skills and equipment by visiting these NPCs but you will have to spend a lot on the process. Each upgrade level is priced at certain amounts of Valorstones, or crests. Weapons are typically the most expensive. You will also need to be able to complete certain quests to get the materials. For example, if you want to upgrade your armor, you will need one of the three Power Dices dropped by monsters 21 and over and an amount of Erons and Minerals.
Recycled Items
Recycled products are made from materials that would otherwise be discarded. These materials include paper, plastics and glass bottles. Aluminum cans and electronic devices are also recyclable. In addition, placing wire hangers in your recycling bins can create fires and other hazards for facilities that process recyclables.
The best practice is to recycle only items that your local recycling program will accept. You can search online for a list that lists accepted items in your area. Paper bags, tissue boxes and Tin cans are typically recyclable. Glass containers for food and beverages are also recyclable, but they must be cleaned prior being put into the recycling bin.
Batteries plastic grocery bags, batteries and wire hangers are among the items that shouldn't be recycled. These items can lead to fires in recycling plants and issues with tangling for trucks and recycling equipment. Instead, you should bring these items to a place where you can drop them off to recycle.
Suffix
Suffixes are upgrade elements that can be used to improve armor and weapons. They can be found in items that contain them, or purchased from a merchant with a Salvage Kit. Upgrades are color-coded to indicate which item types they can be applied to. The seller can sell the identified upgrades for gold. Upgrades can be done with up to two prefixes, and one suffix. Upgrades can only be applied to items with a blue or higher rarity, which includes the ones dropped from chests at the end of Factions and Nightfall campaigns. Items that have upgrade components cannot be used to create new items.

For instance -Fiery boosts atk power by introducing fire elemental damage. Items affixes can be applied to all items up to level 80 and are not applicable to made ascended armour and crafted trinkets.
